This ring is created by fusing 22kt gold onto sterling silver and features five set diamonds along the band.
The fusing process uses precise heat to bring the silver right to its melting point fusing the two metals together using no solder. The technique and aesthetic is inspired by fine Japanese Lacquer technique called Maki-e which uses gold powder sprinkled on a black lacquer background. This creates an ethereal, celestial aesthetic reminiscent of nebulas, clouds, and cosmic images. The use of simple geometric shapes offsets the organic pattern and reiterates shapes found in the cosmos.
